FOCUS Running Race Programs

CriticalPerformance offers a specific training path and Program for the Popular road running races: 5k-Marathon, Multi-day Running events, Road/Trail Ultra’s and Mountain Running, Cross-Country focus. As a certified NCCP distance running coach we help all runners to achieve their goals in their running specialty or event including Road, Mountain/Trail and Cross-Country.


All running races require a massive amount of endurance. The CriticalPerformance program offers many opportunities to push your limits week in and out when participating in the Monthly Training Programs.  However, if you are interested in reaching your true running potential or if your goal event is greater than 6 hours, it is very important to incorporate the EPIC and Mini Camps into your training year.

In 2014, CriticalPerformance offers programs that are race focussed. Although you can choose any race that fits your desires, the CriticalPerformance Team will focus on the list below in the 4 categories of Road-5k to Marathon, Multi-Day Events, Road/Trail Ultra’s and Mountain Running, Cross-Country. It is exciting to have a group of teammates at these events for support and team energy.

All CriticalPerformance athletes work hard and try to attend all training sessions. Maximum fitness and health is achieved by strategic planning then execution. CoachRob attends to all the scheduling, sequencing and overlapping of all the bike, body conditioning, local mini and EPIC camps to ensure maximum fitness development without sacrificing health and daily energy. However because so many independent systems need attention and development, it is best to start early in the season (November/December) even if your goal race is in August. For example, in November and December, the majority of workouts are designed to rebalance the body with some core strength, impact training and neurological reconditioning through speed work and the addition of balance and agility (snowshoeing, plyometrics). This period of development should not be missed and plays a large role in allowing the body to tolerate higher volumes of training in the New Year.

Each month builds on the previous month. Modifications to the training schedule and volume are made to athletes joining mid program, but to get the most value from upcoming camps, it is best to start early and make friends.

Some weeks will have more bike volume, while other weeks might have more rest. If you miss some of these sessions, not to worry, you can either receive the exact details from CoachRob or just flow into the next week. Not all athletes are capable of attending every camp or weekly training sessions. CoachRob will outline the MUST DO training sessions and help you organize your time.

If you come to most of the group sessions, you have an opportunity to speak with CoachRob at the end of the sessions. Often CoachRob will participate in the sessions or do the session before the group. This allows for a better understanding of the level of fatigue and fitness gains during the program.
